Beautiful, high drive, and social working Belgian tervuren pups expected around Jan. 1, 2015. The dam is on site and very confident in any environment, social, high energy, very fast, and an incredible working dog. Sire is civil, strong, and environmentally fearless with one of the best noses and drives for scent detection and tracking I've seen in the breed. Both have full, calm grips, are eager to please, and very easy to train. The dogs learn and retain most commands within just one training session. Dam is working toward BH and IPO, sire is a working protection dog.
Both sire and dam are beautiful dogs with correct confirmation for the breed and work. Dam is a real looker with dark pigmentation, leggy, with great structure. Sire is heavy boned but graceful and agile, large head, full black mask. See pictures.
This litter is heavily line-bred and I expect to produce very uniform pups, suitable for working or experienced homes only. Aside from coat length, expect the drive, confidence, and working ability of a high-drive Belgian malinois. Genetically malinois and workingline tervuren are the same, the only difference in this litter is coat length. These pups are out of the best malinois lines in Europe, with KNPV PH-1, FMBB, ring, and USA champion schutzhund dogs heavily featured in their pedigree.
I will screen owners carefully. I offer life-time breeder support, free training at my kennel at six months to two years, and health guarantees. I will take a puppy I've bred back at any time- but make every effort to make sure pups end up in lifelong homes. I breed for temperament and working ability. I will not sell a nervy, reactive or fearful puppy.
Please contact me for more information on this unique litter. I am one of the few working-line AKC tervuren breeders in North America and have very specific goals for each breeding which I'd be happy to discuss with a potential buyer. I encourage anyone who is seriously interested to visit my kennel and meet my dogs in person. I will sell pups at 8 weeks to 10 weeks of age.
Note- the Belgian shepherd breeds are similar to German Shepherds but very unique in their own right and tend to be more driven, higher energy, and reactive to various extents depending on the dog and the breeding. I get a lot of inquires from people who have owned German Shepherds. Owning a German Shepherd does not necessarily prepare you for the drive, energy and alertness of a Belgian. They are a special breed and require a special owner that is committed to meeting their unique needs. A first-time Belgian owner must be prepared to spend quite a bit of time in socialization, exercise and training. These dogs can excel in "pet" homes as long as the owner commits to daily training, exercise and to finding appropriate outlets for their drives and desire to work. My dogs are very affectionate with family and children, and safe and reliable in the house given proper socialization and training.
